Easy Crochet Fringe Scarf – Maple Crossing Free Pattern

Looking for a cozy crochet scarf pattern with a little extra style?

This easy crossed double crochet scarf is warm, textured, and simple to make, with a pretty V-shaped front that gives it a more polished look than a basic rectangle scarf.

The scarf is worked as one long piece using 2 strands of medium weight yarn held together, which gives it a thick, warm feel without needing bulky yarn.

The crossed double crochet stitches add texture throughout, while the folded construction creates the pointed front and keeps the scarf sitting nicely in place.

Finished with a simple single crochet edging and fringe, this crochet scarf is a great project for fall and winter.

It works well as a handmade gift and can easily be customized in your favorite color or to match a coat.

If you’re looking for an easy crochet scarf pattern with fringe that is warm, stylish, and quick to work up, this is a fun one to add to your cold-weather crochet list.

Happy crocheting!

Gauge

12 sts x 6 rows = 4″ square

Pattern

Ch 26.

Row 1: Dc in the 4th ch from the hk. Dc back into the 3rd ch from the hk. Sk the next ch, dc in the following ch, then dc back into the skipped ch. Repeat from * to * across, turn. (24 dc)

Row 2: Ch 2. Sk the first st, dc in the next st, then dc back into the skipped st. Sk the next st, dc in the following st, then dc back into the skipped st. Repeat from * to * across, turn. (24 dc)

Repeat Row 2 until your piece measures approximately 34″ long.

Your finished rectangle should measure approximately 8.5″ x 34″.

Finishing

Lay the piece flat.

Fold one end down at an angle, then fold the opposite end over it so the two sides overlap and form a V-shaped point at the front.

Do not fasten off.

Sc evenly around the entire outside edge, working through both layers where the ends overlap to secure them together.

Sl st to the first sc to join.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Fringe

Cut strands of yarn approximately 12″ long.

Holding 2 strands together, fold them in half.

Insert your hook into a stitch along the desired edge and pull the folded center of the yarn through the stitch to form a loop. Pull the loose ends through the loop and tighten.

Repeat approximately every other stitch.

Trim the fringe to approximately 4″ long, or to your desired length.

Pin it for later!
