- I hook, 5.5 mm
- Medium worsted weight yarn (size 4), I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn
- Tapestry needle
- 16 oz. portable coffee cup:
dc- double crochet
fpdc- front post double crochet
sl st- slip stitch
Crab stitch, aka the reverse single crochet stitch. Instead of working a single crochet clockwise, you work a single crochet counter clockwise, creating a textured finish. You work in each st as normal, just reverse!
Ch 24, sl st to join.
Round 1: Ch 2, dc in each ch around, sl st to join (24).
Round 2: Ch 2, *dc, fpdc* repeat from * around, sl st to join (24).
Round 3: Ch 2, *fpdc (in previous dc from row 2), dc,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (24).
Repeat rounds 2 and 3, 3 more times.
Round 9: Ch 1, reverse sc (crab stitch) in each st around, sl st to join (24).
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Add a cute feltie or iron on! I have tried both. For the iron on I place a cloth on top of the iron on and press with my iron on cotton setting for approx. 30 seconds. For felties I just use some hot glue and press onto the cozy.
