Materials
- Size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
- Medium weight (size 4) yarn – I used Yarn Bee Fresh Haven in Pink. It is 100% Tencel and very soft. A cotton or cotton-blend yarn would work nicely too. Approximately 2 oz needed.
- Tapestry needle
Multiples
Multiple of 4 + 1 for the starting chain.

- hk – hook
- sc – single crochet
- sc2tog – single crochet 2 stitches together
- sk – skip
- sl st – slip stitch

Body
Ch 65.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across. (64 sts)
Rows 2–3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (64 sts)
Row 4: Ch 5, turn. Sk next 3 sts, sl st in next st, ch 5; repeat from * to * until 4 sts remain. Sk next 3 sts, sc in last st. (16 ch-5 sps)
Row 5: Ch 5, turn. Sl st in first ch-5 sp, ch 5, sl st in next ch-5 sp; repeat from * to * across. (16 ch-5 sps)
Rows 6–9: Repeat Row 5. (16 ch-5 sps)
Row 10: Ch 1, turn. Work 4 sc in each ch-5 sp across. (64 sts)
Rows 11–12: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (64 sts)
Do not fasten off.
First Side
Turn the work so you can crochet along the short side of the headband. Work 10 sc evenly across the side.
Rows 1–5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (10 sts)
Row 6: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog, sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog. (8 sts)
Row 7: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (8 sts)
Row 8: Ch 1, turn. Sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog. (6 sts)
Rows 9–23: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (6 sts)
Fasten off after Row 23.
Second Side
Join yarn at the opposite short side of the headband.
Work 10 sc evenly across the side.
Repeat Rows 1–23 of the First Side.
Do not fasten off.
Edging
Ch 1 and work sc evenly around the entire headband, working 2 sc in each corner.
Join with a sl st to the first sc.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
