Cut a long strand of yarn and sew down the back of the hat with blunt needle, about 1.5″ apart.

Side Braids:

Holding all 3 colors together (blue, white, black), cut 6, 40″ strands of yarn (of each color). Fold in half, insert hook in the center of the base of the earflap and grab the center of the yarn strands with your hook.

Yarn over and pull all strands through the loop. You may need to use a larger hook to get all the yarn strands though the base of the earflap, then I just pull the yarn through with my hand.

Divide yarn into 3 sections by color and braid down. At the base you will knot and pull tightly to secure. Trim ends. Repeat on other side.

You’re done! Great job!
