This project uses a size H hook and 100% cotton yarn (I used Lily Sugar’n Cream). Takes less than 1, 2 oz. skein!

The finished dishcloth measures 8″ X 8″.

Like the pattern. I got to the second row and it curls. Checked the following rows and do not see any increases. How does it lay flat. Am I missing something?

The increases happen between the fpdc posts. In Row 3 you sc once between them, row four sc twice between them, row 5 sc three times between them, row 6 sc 4 times between them and row 7 sc 5 times between the posts. As long as you make sure to sound the stitches between the post your dishcloth should increase and lay flat. Let me know if you have any other questions.

That is not in the pattern at all. I had the same issue – there are no increases in the pattern. Could you please update the pattern to show where the sc stitches are to be placed?

The dc happens in between the fpdc’s. There is one dc in the first row around, 2 in the next and so on. I’m working on a video so it will be easier to see.

Love the dishcloth and the matching coasters. Thanks from your fellow Michigander. (I’m in Flint). I just followed your site.

Once I figured out the magic ring, this pattern worked up perfectly for me. Thanks for sharing!

I can’t figure out the magic circle. How many stitches in the circle?

This pattern was very confusing until I realized that the fpdc stitch is actually your increase stitch starting in row 3. So in row three you place a dc and then a fpdc in the same stitch – so you are doubling your stitches around. Then in row 4 you are doing a dc in the next 2 stitches then a fpdc in that 2nd stitch (which is your increase). So each round increases by one (the fpdc).

Thank you so much! I was so confused because the pattern does not clarify it is in the same stitch…. Whew, thought I was losing it until I read these comments and even then this was the first that actually clarified and made sense. Thanks again!

When you slip stitch do you go into the chain two or double crochet?

Thankyou for your printed pattern, I am just a newby at crochet and the pattern was easy for me to follow and with your tutorial it was easy to go back and watch to see how I was doing.
I just love the round cloth and I have given myself a pat on the back for managing it.
    Thankyou from Sandra
