Sunny Day Crochet Coaster

Create these cute Sunny Day crochet coasters! The coaster works in the round and has a delightful shell border resembling the sun. Very cute for Summer!

This project uses a size H crochet hook and 100% cotton yarn (I used Peaches & Creme in “Sunshine”. 1, 2.5 oz. skein makes 5 coasters.

The finished coaster measures 5″ X 5″.

Materials:

100% cotton yarn (I used Peaches & Cream in “Sunshine”) 1 ball (2.5 oz) makes 5 coasters

Hook size H

Blunt needle

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

sl st- slip stitch

st(s)- stitch(es)

Pattern:

Make magic circle, ch 1.

Row 1: sc 9 in circle (9).

***you will now work in the round, place stitch marker here to keep track of rows***

Row 2: 2 sc in each st around (18).

Row 3: *2 sc, sc,* repeat from * around (27).

Row 4: *2 sc in next st, sc next 2 sts,* repeat from * around (36).

Row 5: *2 sc in next st, sc next 3 sts,* repeat from * around (45).

Row 6: Ch 2, 4 dc in same st, ch 1, skip next 4 sts, 5 dc in next st, ch 1, *sk 4 sts, 5 dc in next st, ch 1*, repeat from * around. Skip 4 sts on last st and sl st into the top of the ch 2 you made. Fasten off and weave in ends.

    Just wondering why there are not any ch 1, or ch 2, at the end, or beginning of each row. These are needed to set up height of the new row. Cut patterns. Thank you.

      Hi Leah! The pattern is worked in the round so there is no seam. That is why there is now Ch 1 or Ch 2. Hope this helps!
