Materials
Size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
Medium weight (size 4) yarn – approximately 80–100 yds total (40–50 yds per mitten)
Tapestry needle
Gauge
14 dc x 8 rows = 4″ (10 cm) square
Finished Size
Standard Adult (fitted)
Width (flat): approx. 3.5″
Length: approx. 6.5″
Note: If you would like a looser fit, go up a hook size.
Abbreviations
ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es)
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
sl st = slip stitch
BLO = back loop only
bpsc = back post single crochet
hk = hook
sk = skip
Pattern:
Cuff
Ch 10.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across, turn. (9 sts)
Rows 2–18: Ch 1, sc in BLO across, turn. (9 sts)
Fold cuff in half and sl st ends together through the back loop on one side and the front loop on the other to join.
Ch 1 and continue with the body.
Body:
Round 1: Sc 26 sts evenly around (they will be close together), sl st to join. (26 sts)
Round 2: Ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Rounds 3–4: Ch 1, bpsc around, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Round 5: Ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Round 6: Ch 1, bpsc in next 11 sts, ch 4, sk next 4 sts, bpsc in next 11 sts, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Round 7: Ch 1, bpsc in next 11 sts, sc in each of next 4 ch sts, bpsc in next 11 sts, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Round 8: Ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Rounds 9–10: Ch 1, bpsc around, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Round 11: Ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join. (26 sts)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Repeat for the second mitten.
