Materials:
Size N (10 mm) crochet hook
Super bulky (#6) yarn, I used Lion Brand Hometown in “Dillon Quartz”. 3 skeins, about 240 yards needed.
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Abbreviations (US terms):
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
sc – single crochet
st – stitch
shell – (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc)
Gauge:
9 sts x 11 rows = 4″ square
Multiples:
multiples of 3 + 2
Pattern (Rectangle)
Starting Chain: Ch 17
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hk, dc in each remaining ch across. Turn. (15 dc)
Row 2:
Ch 2, *dc next 3 sts, skip next st, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next st, skip next st,* repeat from *, dc last 3 sts. Turn.
Row 3:
Ch 2, *dc next 3 sts, sk next 3 sts, work (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in the ch-2 space from previous row, skip next 3 sts,* dc last 3 sts. Turn.
Row 4:
Ch 2, *dc 3, ch 4,
sc in the center of the 3-dc group from the shell two rows below,
sc in each of the ch-4 sts just made, sk dc cluster,
in ch-3 space of the shell: (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc),
ch 4, sc in the center of the same 3-dc group from the shell two rows below,
sc in each of the ch-4 sts just made, sk dc cluster* repeat from *, dc last 3 sts. Turn.
Row 5:
Repeat rows 4 and 5 until your piece measures 33″.
Dc in each st across with 3 dc in each space (15).
Lay one side on top of the other to form a “V” at the front.
Continue to sc evenly around the entire piece (working through both sides where they overlap).
Sl st in first st and fasten off.
Weave in ends.
