Crochet Northern Ridge Fingerless Mittens

Materials:

– Size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook

– Medium weight (size 4) acrylic yarn

– Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

ch- chains

st(s)- stitch(es)

sc- single crochet

hdc- half double crochet

dc- double crochet

sk- skip

BLO- back loop only

Final Measurement:

The final fingerless mitten measures approx. 4″ wide x 8″ tall.

Fingerless Mittens (make 2):

Cuff:

Ch 11

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from the hk and each ch to end, turn (10).

Rows 2-18: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st to end, turn (10).

Fold cuff in half and sl st together the back loop only of on side and the front loop only of the other.

Body:

Row 1: Continue to sc 24 sts around the top of the cuff (they will be close together), sl st to join (24).

Round 2: Ch 2, Ch 2, hdc in the BLO in each st around, sl st to join (24).

Round 3: Ch 2, hdc in the third loop only in each st around, sl st to join (24).

Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in the third loop only in each st around, sl st to join (24).

Round 5: Ch 2, skip the next ch, dc in the next 3 ch, long double crochet (Ldc) into the skipped ch. Repeat from * to * across (24).

Round 6: Ch 2, hdc in the BLO in each st around, sl st to join (24).

Round 7: Ch 2, hdc in the third loop only next 10 sts, ch 4, sk next 4 sts, hdc in the third loop only next 10 sts, sl st to join (24).

Round 8: Ch 2, hdc in the third loop only next 10 sts, hdc next 4 sts, hdc in the third loop only next 10 sts, sl st to join (24).

Round 9: Ch 2, skip the next ch, dc in the next 3 ch, long double crochet (Ldc) into the skipped ch. Repeat from * to * across (24).

Round 10: Ch 2, hdc in the BLO in each st around, sl st to join (24).

Round 11: Ch 2, hdc in the third loop only in each st around, sl st to join (24).

Round 12: Ch 2, hdc in the third loop only in each st around, sl st to join (24).
