Create this beautiful crochet Jolly beanie!
So much texture and color contrast detail! The beanie is worked from the bottom up and fits an adult size (18-20″ head circumference).

Materials:
- Medium worsted weight yarn (size 4) in 3 colors. I used Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn”. Any soft acrylic would work nicely, Caron Simply Soft is also a good choice and any variegated yarn.
- Size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
st(sts)- stitch(es)
hk- hook
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
BLO- back loops only
sl st- slip stitch
hdc2tog- half double crochet 2 together
Special Stitches:
Puff stitch: Yarn over, insert hk in st and pull up a loop, yarn over and insert hook and pull up another loop, yarn over and insert hook and pull up another loop, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.
Third loop only:
Band:
ch 7
Row 1: With green color, sc in 2nd ch from the hk and each ch to end, turn (6).
Rows 2-52: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (6).
Sl st ends to join.
Ch 1, sc 56 sts evenly around, sl st to join (56).
Body:
Row 1: Switch to white color and ch 1. Sc in the 3rd loop only in each st around, sl st to join (56).
Row 2: Switch to red color and ch 2. Hdc in the 3rd loop only in each st around, sl st to join (56).
Row 3: Ch 2, puff in first st, ch 1, puff in same st, *ch 1, sk next 2 sts, puff in next st, ch 1, puff in same st,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (56).
Row 4-5: Ch 2, *puff in-between the puff from the previous row, ch 1, puff in same st, ch 1,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (56).
Row 6: Switch to green color and ch 1, sc 56 sts evenly around, sl st to join (56).
Row 7: Switch to red color and ch 2, hdc in the 3rd loop only in each st around, sl st to join (56).
Rows 8: Switch to white color and ch 2. Puff in first st, ch 1, puff in same st, *ch 1, sk next 2 sts, puff in next st, ch 1, puff in same st,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (56).
Rows 9-12: Ch 2, *puff in-between the puff from the previous row, ch 1, puff in same st, ch 1,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (56).
Row 13: Switch to red color and sc 50 sts evenly around, sl st to join (50).
Row 14: Switch to white yarn and ch 1, sc in the 3rd loop only in each st around, sl to to join (50).
Row 15: Switch to green yarn and ch 2. *Hdc next 3 sts, hdc2tog*, repeat from * around, sl st to join (40).
Row 16: Ch 2, *hdc next 2 sts, hdc2tog,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (30).
Row 17: Ch 2, *hdc2tog, hdc in next st,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (20).
Row 18: Ch 2, hdc2tog in each st around, sl st to join (10). Fasten off leaving a long tail. With tapestry needle sew in and out along the top of the hat and pull to close the circle. Weave your needle back and forth several more times to secure. Fasten off on the inside of the hat. Weave in all ends.
Optional: Attach a faux fur pom.
