Great for the winter weather! A fun easy stitch pattern that is a great way to make something that looks complicated and advanced but can be completed within a couple of hours. This is a great pattern to make with different yarns and fun to make in a variety of colors. Follow this free written pattern and simple steps to create this twisted crochet headband. Materials:

  • Size I, 5.5 mm crochet hook for bulky weight yarn, size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook for medium worsted weight yarn (about 4 oz of bulky weight and 3 oz of medium worsted weight for the adult size), I used Yarn Bee Andes Alpaca in “City Beat”. For the red headband I used 2 strands together of Yarn Bee Dazzling in “Royal Canon”

I also recommend Bernat Baby Softee Chunky yarn (bulky weight yarn) and Read Heart soft (medium worsted weight yarn). Both are very soft, comfortable and easy to work with.

  • Tapestry needle

Cut a long piece of yarn and with your blunt needle weave in and out through all ends together. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Turn your piece inside out and you’re done!

Is there a video for this? I see it written above, but nothing is clickable. I was hoping to see it being sewn together.

It’s right at the top of the page, beneath the photo of the 6 headwarmers. 🙂 Took me a while to find it too. 🙂

Good question! You can make it any width you want as long as you start with a odd number of chains. I would suggest a starting ch of 15 for a 6-12 m size.
