Elegant Fur Crochet Fingerless Mittens

Add a touch of elegance to your cold-weather wardrobe with these beautiful faux fur crochet fingerless mittens!

This beginner-friendly pattern uses a combination of single crochet and front post double crochet stitches to create gorgeous texture, while the faux fur trim adds a cozy, luxurious finish.

Each finished mitten measures approximately 4¼” wide and 8″ tall.

Materials:

– Size H hook, 5.00 mm

– Medium worsted weight yarn, I used Yarn Bee “Breathe Deep” in Ivory (so soft!), about 1.5 oz. I also recommend  Red Heart Soft in “Off-white” as a similar yarn choice.

– Lion Brand “Go For Faux” in Blonde Elk for trim, about 1 oz.

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

hk- hook

st(s)- stitch(es)

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

fpdc- front post double crochet

BLO- back loop only

 

Pattern:

Cuff:

Ch 10

Row 1: Sc in second ch from the hk and each ch to end (9).

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across (9).

Repeat row 2, 16 more times for a total of 18 rows.

Fold in half and sl st through both ends together.

 

Body:

Evenly sc 26 sts around (will be close together).

Continue to work in the round, add stitch marker here to keep track of rows.

Row 2: Dc in each st around.

Row 3: Sc in first st, *fpdc in next, sc next st, repeat from * around (26).

Rows 4-8: Sc in first, *fpdc around fpdc from previous row, sc next st,* repeat from * around (26).

Row 9: *Sc in first, fpdc around previous rows fpdc,* repeat from * 4 more times then ch 4 (for thumb), sk next 4 sts and *sc in next, fpdc around previous rows fpdc,* repeat from * around (22).

Row 10: Sc in first, *fpdc around fpdc from previous row, sc next st,* repeat from * around until you reach the ch 4 from the previous row. Dc in each ch from row 10, *sc next st, fpdc around fpdc from previous row, * repeat from * around (26).

Row 11: Sc in first, *fpdc around fpdc from previous row, sc next st,* repeat from * around (you will fpdc into the dc from row 11 when you reach the 4 dc’s you made from that row) (26).

Rows 12-15: Sc in first, *fpdc around fpdc from previous row, sc next st,* repeat from * around (26). Sl st in first st on last row and fasten off. Weave in end.

Trim:

Pick up a st with the faux fur yarn and ch 1, sc evenly around the top. Sl st in first st and fasten off. Weave in ends.

Repeat with thumb and around the bottom cuff.

    I had to put a few more rows on the cuff than 18 or it would have been too small to get my hand through or go to a bigger hook.

      Yes by all means add more rows if you need to. I like mine fitted and 18 rows has always been a good number for me.

    Hi Laura, after sl st the cuff together I can’t get 26 stitches in next row. I can get 20 or 30. I keep pulling it out can’t get 26.
    The cuff came out fine with 9 stitches, but then how do you get 26 stitches to go around?
    As you might guess I am a beginner crocheter.
