Crochet Heart Pillow Buddy

This cute little crochet heart pillow buddy is the perfect Valentine to make for your little one!

The heart pocket on the back is the perfect spot to put a little note or small treat! Very cute, your little one will love it!

The finished pillow measures approx. 11″ high by 8″ wide.

Materials:

  • H hook, I hook
  • 100% Cotton yarn in red, black and white (I used Sugar’n Cream)
  • Darning needle
  • Stuffing

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

sc- single crochet

sc2tog- single crochet 2 together

st(s)- stitch(es)

sl st- slip stitch

Heart Body, with red or white (make 2 with I hook):

Ch 2

Row 1: 2sc in next st (2).

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st (4).

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across (4).

Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 2 sts, 2 sc (6).

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st across (6).

Row 6: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 4 sts, 2 sc (8).

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st across (8).

Row 8: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 6 sts, 2 sc (10).

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in each st across (10).

Row 10: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 8 sts, 2 sc (12).

Row 11: Ch 1, sc in each st across (12).

Row 12: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 10 sts, 2 sc (14).

Row 13: Ch 1, sc in each st across (14).

Row 14: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 12 sts, 2 sc (16).

Row 15: Ch 1, sc in each st across (16).

Row 16: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 14 sts, 2 sc (18).

Row 17: Ch 1, sc in each st across (18).

Row 18: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 16 sts, 2 sc (20).

Row 19: Ch 1, sc in each st across (20).

Row 20: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 18 sts, 2 sc (22).

Row 21: Ch 1, sc in each st across (22).

Row 22: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 20 sts, 2 sc (24).

Row 23: Ch 1, sc in each st across (24).

Row 24: Ch 1, sc next 12 sts across (12).

Row 25: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc next 8 sts, sc2tog (10).

Row 26: Ch 1, sc in each st across (10).

Row 27: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc next 6 sts, sc2tog (8).

Row 28: Ch 1, sc in each st across (8).

Row 29: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc next 4 sts, sc2tog (6).

Row 30: Ch 1, sc in each st across (6).

Row 31: Ch 1, sc2tog 3 times (3)

Row 32: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next st (3), fasten off.

Pick up a st in the middle of row 12 and sc 6. Repeat rows 24-32, sc 80 sts evenly around the heart and fasten off.

Small Heart (make 1):

Ch 2

Row 1: 2sc in next st (2).

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st (4).

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across (4).

Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 2 sts, 2 sc (6).

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st across (6).

Row 6: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 4 sts, 2 sc (8).

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st across (8).

Row 8: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 6 sts, 2 sc (10).

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in each st across (10).

Row 10: Ch 1, 2 sc, sc next 8 sts, 2 sc (12).

Row 11: Ch 1, sc in each st across (12).

Row 12: Ch 1, sc next 6 sts across (6).

Row 13: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc next 2 sts, sc2tog (4).

Row 14: Ch 1, sc in each st across (4).

Row 15: Ch 1, sc2tog twice (2).

Row 16: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sts (2), fasten off.

  • Pick up a st in the middle of row 12 and sc 6. Repeat rows 13-16, sc evenly around the heart. Sc evenly around the heart and fasten off. Weave in end. Sew onto middle of large heart with blunt needle from one corner to the other, leaving the top of the heart open.                                     

Eyes (size G hook):

With black yarn Ch 7, sc in each st across and fasten off leaving a long tail. Sew on eyes with blunt needle.

Make 3 lines for eyelashes and sew over eyelashes again for added thickness.

Mouth:

Cut a long piece of black yarn and sew on face as pictured. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Edging (with G hook):

With right sides out place hearts against each other and pull up a loop through both stitches anywhere on the heart and ch 1. *Skip next st, 5 dc in next, skip next st, sc in next,* repeat from * around.

Sl st in first sc st and fasten off. Weave in end.

Arms (with G hook) (Make 2): 

Magic circle, ch 2 (counts as 1 dc)

Row 1: Dc 11 into center circle (12).

Row 1: Sc around in blo (12).

Rows 2-7: Sc (through both loops) in each st around (12), fasten off leaving a long tail.

Fill arms with stuffing and sew onto pillow as pictured.
