– Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
– Medium weight (4) cotton yarn
– Tapestry needle

15 sts x 12 rows = 4″ square
Abbreviations
– ch – chain
– st(s) – stitch(es)
– hdc sl st – half double crochet slip stitch
– BLO – back loops only
– sc – single crochet
– hk – hook
– sl st – slip stitch
How to Hdc Sl St
Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, then pull that loop directly through all loops on the hook.
This stitch creates a tight, knit-like texture with very little stretch.
Pattern
Ch 28
Row 1: Hdc sl st in the 3rd ch from hk and in each ch across, turn (26).
Rows 2–20: Ch 2, hdc sl st in the BLO in each st across, turn (26).
Border
Ch 1, sc evenly around the entire dishcloth, working 2 sc in each corner.
Sl st to first st to join. Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends.
