Elegant Crochet Flower Sun Hat Easy Free Pattern

If you love fun summer crochet projects, this elegant flower sun hat is such a beautiful one to make!

It’s a simple hat design that works up quickly using basic stitches, and then the real fun begins with the decorating.

I added cute puff flowers and small circles around the hat, which gives it a sweet, whimsical look that’s perfect for spring and summer.

One of my favorite parts of this design is that you can completely customize it with different color combinations.

Go bright and playful, soft and pastel, or even a classic neutral palette.

I also love adding a few rhinestones to the flower centers for a little sparkle.

If you’ve never used a Bedazzler before, it actually works really well on cotton yarn and makes attaching the gems super easy (see the link below in the materials list).

This pattern includes four sizes — newborn, baby, child, and adult — so you can make matching hats for the whole family.

It’s also a great stash-busting project since you only need small amounts of yarn for the flowers and embellishments.

Happy crocheting!

Embellishing (optional)

Sew flowers and circles to hat, alternating circles and flowers.

Fasten off on the inside of the hat and weave in ends.

Optional: Add rhinestones to flower centers or scattered across the hat (for child and adult sizes only).

The Bedazzler tool works great on cotton yarn and makes attaching rhinestones so easy.

Use it to press gems onto the middle of the flowers and hold for 25 seconds. The rhinestone will adhere with no residue!

Pin it for later!
