If you love cozy layers with beautiful texture, you’re going to adore this Bay Breeze Crochet Neck Warmer Pattern.
This design has that perfect balance of warmth and style — thick, soft, and just structured enough to hold its shape while still feeling lightweight around your neck.
The combination of treble crochet and the unique hdc between stitches (bhdc) creates a gorgeous woven texture that looks intricate but is surprisingly simple to work up.
Finished with a flattering “V” detail in the front, this neck warmer adds just the right touch of interest to your fall and winter outfits.
It’s a great project for confident beginners who are ready to try something new, and it works up beautifully with medium weight yarn.
Whether you’re making one for yourself, gifting it for the holidays, or adding it to your handmade market lineup, this is a piece you’ll reach for again and again.
Happy crocheting!

Construction
Fold the piece so the two short ends overlap, forming a “V” shape at the front.
Round 1: Single crochet evenly around the entire piece, working through both layers where the ends overlap. Sl st to join.
Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Sl st to join.
Round 3: Hdc in the BLO of each stitch up to the front “V” stitch. In the “V” stitch, work hdc, ch 2, hdc. Continue hdc in the BLO of each remaining stitch. Sl st to join.
Repeat Round 3 for a total of 4 rounds.
Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Pin it for later!
The instructions for construction leave me not understanding how to proceed. Looking at the picture, I don’t see how the neck turns or where the two ends overlap.
The ends lay on top of each other to for a V shape at the front. Lay one end down then place the other end right on top of it. Here is a similar pattern where I show how to form the front V with pictures: https://traversebaycrochet.com/2025/09/23/crochet-cowl-scarf-for-beginners-easy-free-pattern/
