Bag
Ch 30
Row 1:
Sl st in first 5 ch (BLO), sc in next 20 ch (BLO), sl st in last 5 ch (BLO).
(30 sts)
Rows 2–10:
Repeat Row 1, working in the back loop only of each stitch.
(30 sts each row)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Fold the piece in half lengthwise, aligning the slip stitch sections at the sides. Using the long tail, sew one short edge closed to form one side of the bag. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Cut a long piece of yarn and sew the remaining short edge closed in the same way to complete the bag. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Corner Fringe
Cut 4 strands of yarn, each 17″ long.
Using a smaller hook (size H recommended), attach one strand to each corner of the bag:
Fold a strand in half.
Pull the folded loop through a corner stitch.
Yarn over and pull the ends through the loop to secure.
Each corner will have 2 fringe strands once attached.
Trim fringe to approximately 6″, or desired length.
Tassel
Cut 10 strands of yarn, each 10″ long, and lay them flat and even.
Cut 1 additional 10″ strand and tie it tightly around the center of the bundle.
Fold all strands in half so the knot sits at the top of the tassel.
Cut a longer strand of yarn and wrap it snugly around the tassel about 1″ below the top, wrapping 4–5 times to create the tassel neck.
Using a blunt needle, thread one end of the wrapping yarn and pull it down through the center of the tassel to secure. Repeat with the other end.
Trim tassel evenly to approximately 3″, or desired length.
Attach tassel to a spring O-ring carabiner clip, or sew directly to the bag using a blunt needle and an additional piece of yarn. Pull ends through the tassel to secure and trim.
Handle
Ch 16
Row 1:
Sc in the 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across, turn.
(15 sts)
Rows 2–4:

Do not fasten off. Fold the handle in half lengthwise.
Working along the folded edge, sc through both layers across the length of the handle.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Attach each end of the handle to an O-ring, or sew directly to the bag if preferred.

Optional: Sew magnetic snap closures to the inside of the bag using a sewing needle and thread.
For added strength, double the thread when attaching the snaps.
