Crochet Faux Knit Neck Warmer Pattern

Materials:
Size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook
Medium weight (size 4) yarn – I used Yarnspirations Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes in Strawberry Swirl, 8 oz., 407 yards
Tapestry needle
Abbreviations (US Terms):
ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
hk – hook
hdc – half double crochet
hdc sl st – half double crochet slip stitch
BLO – back loop only
sl st – slip stitch
Gauge:
14 sts x 13 rows = 4″ square
Special Stitch:
Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch (hdc sl st):
Yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook).
Do not yarn over again — instead, pull the first loop directly through the other two loops on your hook.
Pattern:
Ch 102
Row 1: Hdc sl st in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (100 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc sl st in BLO of each st across, turn. (100 sts)
Repeat Row 2 for 28 rows.
Your piece will measure approximately 8″ wide and 28″ long.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Folding:
Lay one piece of the neck warmer over the other so it forms a “V” at the front.
Sc evenly around the entire piece, working through both layers where they overlap.
Sl st to join.
Edging:
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), skip first st, dc in next st, ch 1; repeat from * around.
Sl st to join.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Fringe:
Cut yarn pieces approx. 10″ long. Take 3 strands together and fold in half.
Pull the folded end through every other space along the bottom edge of the neck warmer.
Pull the loose ends through the loop to secure.
Trim fringe to 3.5″ or desired length.
