This free crochet pattern features basic crochet stitches, a super easy bootie pattern, perfect for a beginner!

The pattern uses a hook size G (4.25 mm) and single crochet.

A great easy pattern for baby showers, new moms and baby gifts!

This is a great classic crochet baby pattern and gender-neutral design, written in different sizes of little feet (3 sizes).

The pattern instructions are easy to follow and a great crochet baby booties pattern to make with soft yarn.

Materials:

  • Medium worsted weight yarn (size 4)
  • G hook, 4.25 mm
  • Blunt needle

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

hk- hook

st(s)- stitch(es)

sc- single crochet

FLO- front loop only

BLO- back loop only 

Construction:

Follow the pattern instructions for the size you would like. Fold in half and sew on 3 sides. Turn inside out.

0-3 Months- measures 3.75″

Ch 14

Row 1: Sc in second ch from the hk and in each ch to end, turn (13).

Row 2: Sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (13).

Row 3: Sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (13).

Row 4: Sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (13).

Row 5: Sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (13).

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in next 7 sts, turn (7).

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (7).

Row 8: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (7).

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (7).

Row 10: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in next 7 sts, continue to ch 7, turn (14).

Row 11: Sc in second ch from the hk and next 6 sts, sc in the FLO in remaining sts to end (13).

Row 12: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (13).

Row 13: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (13).

Row 14: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (13).

Row 15: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (13).

Fasten off on last row.

Fold bootie in half so the edges line up together.

Cut a long piece of yarn.

Using blunt needle weave in and out around the toe, heel and up the back of the bootie (do not sew together the top).

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Turn bootie inside out.

Repeat with other bootie.

3-6 Months- measures 4.25″

Ch 16

Row 1: Sc in second ch from the hk and in each ch to end, turn (15).

Row 2: Sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (15).

Row 3: Sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (15).

Row 4: Sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (15).

Row 5: Sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (15).

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in next 8 sts, turn (8).

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (8).

Row 8: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (8).

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (8).

Row 10: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in next 8 sts, continue to ch 8, turn (16).

Row 11: Sc in second ch from the hk and next 6 sts, sc in the FLO in remaining sts to end (15).

Row 12: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (15).

Row 13: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (15).

Row 14: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (15).

Row 15: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (15).

Fasten off on last row.

Fold bootie in half so the edges line up together.

Row 4: Sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (17).

Row 5: Sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (17).

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in next 8 sts, turn (8).

Row 7: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (8).

Row 8: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (8).

Row 9: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (8).

Row 10: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in next 8 sts, continue to ch 10, turn (18).

Row 11: Sc in second ch from the hk and next 6 sts, sc in the FLO in remaining sts to end (17).

Row 12: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (17).

Row 13: Ch 1, sc in the FLO in each st across, turn (17).

Row 14: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (17).

Row 15: Ch 1, sc in the BLO in each st across, turn (17).

Fasten off on last row.

    What is the purpose of not having a ch1 in rows 1-5?

      To not create a seam. You can sl st and ch 1 if you prefer, that will just create a seam up the back of the bootie.
