- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:

ch- chain
st(s)- stitch(es)
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
sl st- slip stitch
sk- skip
sp- space
Gauge:
13 sts x 12 rows = 4″ square
Pattern:
With first color Ch 98 (measures 29″)
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from the hk and each ch to end, turn (96).
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (96).
Row 3: Change to white color, ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (96).
Row 4: Switch to new color, ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (96).
Row 5: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (96).
Repeat rows 3-5, 5 more times.
Fasten off, weave in all ends.
Lay the neck warmer so one end overlaps the other to form a pointed “V” in the front.
Edging:
With first color pick up a st and ch 1. Evenly sc 90 in each st around, working through both sides where the neck warmer overlaps. The number of sc’s doesn’t need to be exact but needs to be a multiple of 3.
Sl st in first st.
Round 1: *Ch 5, sk next 2 sts, sl st in next st,* repeat from * around, ending with ch 5.
Round 2: *Sc 3 in ch 5 sp, ch 2, sl st in first ch, sc 2 in same ch 5 sp,* repeat from * around, sl to to join.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Leave the collar up for fold it over to complete the look!
Thanks for sharing this pattern concept that can be modified in varies ways…
I have been whipped up several already skipping the edging by just doing a sc stitch to join & around
Using 5 oz skeins of yarn & I or J hook…
