Row 1:

  • In the fourth chain from the hook, work a double crochet.
  • Double crochet into each chain across.

Repeat Row 1:

    • If you’re making a security blanket or a blanket for a baby, consider using single crochet stitches for a tighter and secure fabric.
  5. Choosing the Right Stitch Count:
    • The stitch count is crucial for achieving the right size. Make a small swatch and check if your stitches match the recommended gauge measurements.

Yarn Dye Lots and Consistency

  1. Understanding Dye Lots:
    • Be aware of dye lots, especially if you’re using multiple skeins of the same color. Dye lots ensure consistency in color throughout your project.
  2. Consistent Color in Blanket Borders:
    • When adding blanket borders, use yarn from the same dye lot to maintain consistent color across the entire project.

I hope all of these tips help you when choosing a blanket to crochet what to consider.
