Goddess Crochet Crop Top Free Pattern

Create this beautiful Goddess crochet crop top with this free pattern! The top features gorgeous stitch detail and a lace up back. Very cute for Summer! You can easily adjust the cup size then work the body of the pattern. This pattern uses a size D, 3.25 mm crochet hook and Fine weight yarn (size 2, cotton/rayon blend).

Goddess Crochet Crop Top

Materials:

  • Fine weight yarn (size 2), I used Yarn Bee Mimosa in “Blue”, about 4-5 oz, 300-350 yards needed (1.5-2 skeins depending on size)
    62% Cotton
    38% Manufactured Fibers – Rayon / Viscose
  • D, 3.25 mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

st(s)- stitches

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

sl st- slip stitch

Note:

Ch3 at the beginning of each row counts as a dc.

Gauge:

8 sts X 5 rows = 2″ square

Sizing (waist measurement):

Small- 24-28″

Medium- 29-33″

Large- 34-38″

Extra Large- 39-43″

Bead stitch:

After you’ve made your dc, yo and insert hook around the post you made with the dc. You will be working sideways. Yo again and insert hook around the dc, yo again and insert hook around the dc, yo one more time and insert hook again around the dc. Yo and pull through all loops, 1 bead stitch made.

Bra Cup (make 2):

Ch 16

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from the hk and each st across, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in end st, dc in each st across back down the other side of the foundation chain (30).

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in each st across to ch 1 sp from previous row. 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in ch 1 sp, dc in each st across the row to end (34).

Repeat row 2:

  • 4 more times for A/B cup (S,M) (50)
  • 6 more times for B/C cup (M/L) (58)
  • 8 more times for C/D cup (L/XL)(66)

Continue with border:

Ch 3, turn, *sk next st, dc in next, bead st around dc,* repeat from * to ch 1 sp. Work dc in ch 1 sp, bead st around dc, *sk next st, dc in next, bead st around dc,* repeat from * to end, ending with a dc in last st.

***Repeat for the second cup***

Joining cups:

Do not fasten off. join both cups together by sl st the inside of the cup to the other. Fasten off leaving a long tail. With your tapestry needle sew through the front loops of either side (up 3 rows) to secure. Fasten off on the inside and weave in ends.

Body:

Continue to sc 38 (A/B), 50 (B/C), 62 (C/D) evenly along the bottom of the top. Fasten off.

Ch 30 (38, 46, 54)

Join the top where you fastened off by sc in each st across. Continue to ch 33 (41, 49, 57). 

Row 1: Dc in the 3rd ch from the hk and each st across (98, 126, 154, 182).

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, *sk next st, dc in next, bead st,* repeat from * to end, ending with a dc in last st (98, 126, 154, 182).

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in each sp across ending with 2 dc in last st, turn (98, 126, 154, 182).

Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in each st across (98, 126, 154, 182).

Repeat rows 2-4, 2 more times for small/medium sizes, 4 more times for L/XL sizes. Fasten off on last row and weave in ends (98, 126, 154, 182).

Top straps:

Pick up a st at the top of the cup where the ch 1 space is and ch 70. Fasten off and trim end. Repeat on the other side.

Lace up back strap:

Ch 120 for S/M sizes, ch 130 for L/XL sizes, fasten off and trim ends.

Thread the strap in between the bead stitch and dc on the 2nd row of the body on either side. Make sure the strap in centered in the middle.

Cross each strap and lace in between the bead stitch and dc on the 5th row of the body on either side.

Now cross each strap one more time in between the bead stitch and dc on the 8th row of the body on either side.

Pull securely and tie the bottom after you put on the top.
