In my Ravelry store HERE.

Measurements:

Candy Corn Wind Spinner:

The wind spinner (by itself) measures approx. 19″ long and 3.5″ wide. The candy corn measures approx. 4″ wide by 5.5″ tall. The total length of the candy corn wind spinner measures approx. 30″.

Spider Wind Spinner:

The wind spinner (by itself) measures approx. 19″ long and 3.5″ wide. The spider (not including legs) measures approx. 4″ long X 2.5″ wide.

Pumpkin Wind Spinner:

The wind spinner (by itself) measures approx. 19″ long and 3.5″ wide. The pumpkin measures approx. 4″ X 4″.

Materials

  • F hook, 3.75 mm

  • Medium worsted weight yarn, size 4 (cotton yarn works too). I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn in burnt pumpkin, yellow, white, coffee, green and black. Any medium weight yarn will work well. Red Heart Super Saver is also a good choice:

  • Tapestry needle
  • 3 pipe cleaners (for spider only)

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

hk- hook

st(s)- stitch(es)

sc- single crochet

hdc- half double crochet

dc- double crochet

hdc2tog- half double crochet 2 together

hdc3tog- half double crochet 3 together

Gauge:

14 dc’s X 6 rows = 4″ square

Tip: You can make your wind spinner longer or shorter if you ch more or less in your foundation chain.

Pattern for candy corn wind spinner:

With white yarn Ch 60

Row 1: Dc in third ch from the hk and each st across (58).

Row 2: Switch to orange yarn and ch 2. 2 dc in each st across (58).

Row 3: Switch to yellow yarn and ch 2. 3 dc in each st across (58). Continue to ch 20, sl st in first ch and fasten off (creates loop for hanging).

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Important: Coil up your wind spinner so it hangs correctly when you hang it.

Fasten off leaving a tail to sew onto wind spinner. With tapestry needle sew the top of the candy corn to the base of the wind spinner.

Thanks for the patterns. I’m making the spider now. Do you go back and forth on the rows or break the yarn and start from the same end each time. Thanks.

Hi! The spider head and body are worked up separately and in the round. Then they are stitched together with a tapestry needle. Hope this helps!

Is there a correct top & bottom of the wind spinner? Mines not spinning nicely, maybe I hung it up side down?
