Create this cute and easy jolly crochet twist headband!
Great for leftover scrap yarn and so much fun to make in a variety of colors!
First the body of the headband is made, then we add some color/texture with a simple horizontal single crochet stitch (video included!), then we finish with a super simple twist (video included!).
This project uses a size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook and medium worsted weight yarn (4).

Materials:
- H hook, 5.00 mm
- Medium worsted weight yarn (size 4) in 3 colors
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
st(s)- stitch(es)
ch- chain
sc- single crochet
dc- double crochet
hk- hook
Pattern:
Make a foundation chain until your piece measures the corresponding size below:
Sizing:
newborn: 13″
0-3M: 14″
3-6M: 15″
6-12M: 16″
Toddler: 17″
Child: 18″
Teen/Adult: 19″
Large Adult: 20″
Body:
Row 1: Dc in the 3rd ch from the hk and each st to end.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, dc in each st across.
Repeat row 2, 3 more times for a thinner headband (baby/children’s sizes) and 5 more times for a wider headband.
Fasten off.
Texture Accent:
With contrasting color pull up a st on the side in between the first two rows. Sc in between each st across (around post). Fasten off a long tail and weave it into the first st to join.

Repeat the texture accent between each set of rows, alternating colors on each row.
Weave in all ends.
Twist:
With the right side facing up, fold each end in half horizontally. Put those halves together by putting one side of the fold inside the other. See picture/video below on how to make the twist:
Cut a long piece of yarn and with your blunt needle weave in and out through all ends together. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Turn your piece inside out and you’re done! Enjoy your new headband!
