Chart graph- front of bag:
Complete the chart exactly as shown. Work from bottom to top (you may work from top to bottom, I just wrote the pattern so you can continue to work the handles in once you get to the top without cutting the yarn).
Chart graph tips:
- Always bring the yarn you are not using to the front. (for example, when you are switching from ivory to red, bring the ivory strand to the front and continue with the red, do not sc over the ivory or it will bleed through and not give you a clean picture
- when switching colors, sc as normal, pull up 2 loops then pull through with the new color.
- Using bobins will help to keep your work neater and less tangled.
The Chart graph:
Ch 47 and follow graph.
The rows are labeled 1-46 on both sides.
After you are finished with the graph, weave in all the ends. I know there are a lot of ends to weave in but it will be worth it!
Back of bag:
Row 1: Sc in second ch from the hook and each st across.
Rows 2-46: Sc in each st across. Don’t fasten off, continue to sew together.
Pocket (with green yarn):
Row 1: Sc in each st across (17).
Repeat row 1 until piece measures 5″. Fasten off, weave in end.
With blunt needle, thread a long piece of yellow yarn through.
Place pocket in the middle of the yellow back about 2″ down and stitch in and out around 3 sides of the pocket (leaving the top open). Fasten off, weave in ends.
Sewing together (with yellow yarn):
Place the pineapple piece down with the right side facing up. Place the other plain piece underneath. Put hook back in the loop from the plain side and sc trough both loops around 3 sides with 2 sc in each corner.
Do not fasten off. Ch 2 with yellow color, continue with handles.
Row 1: Sc in next 7 sts, ch 50, skip 32 sts, sc in next 14 sts, ch 50, skip 32 sts, hdc next 7 sts. Sl st to join, ch 1 with orange color.
Row 2: Sc in each st around, sl st to join, ch 1 with red color.
Row 3: Sc in each st around, sl st to join, ch 1.
Row 4: Sc in each st around, sl st to join, ch 1 with yellow color.
