How to make your booties not slip:
I get this question a lot and have a couple solutions I think work really well:
- Puff paint. Squirt little dots or lines of puff paint on the bottoms. Turn them upside down and let them dry overnight before use.
2. Clear plasti dip spray. This is my preferred method as it works really well and just sprays on.
Be sure to do this outdoors. Spray the bottoms and let dry overnight before use.

I am trying the booties. I am a little confused on row 1. I get the first couple of stitches but what does it mean down the other side 8 sc so st
Hi, you are just working your way down the other side of the foundation chain. Hope this helps!
Can you tell me how many inches each part is? I’m using a smaller size yarn and I want to make sure they are the right size. Also, I am trying to make these for about 6-9 month old. Is there a pattern for that? Thank you so much. These are so cute and easy to work up.
Hi. For row 3 my stitches become 34 instead of 33. Is there any mistake here?
Hi, it should be 33 sts at the end of row 3. There are only 5 increasing sts for that row. You might have accidentally added an extra stitch somewhere.
Hi! For row 6, do I place the first hdc where the stitch marker is or do I hdc in the stitch after that one? Thank you! I’ve been practicing making these and they are so darn cute! Just want to make sure I’m doing it right so they come out as nice as yours!
Hi, the first hdc is the same st that you sl st into, so the first st where your stitch marker is. Hope this helps!
Hi! I love these booties but have a question. I keep messing up on my count and I think it has to do with joining with a slip stitch at the end and chain 2. Where do you join with a slip stitch. Do the chains count as stitches? Thanks so much if you can help me with the joining part of the directions!
Hi Cindy, the ch 2 does not count as stitch. The stitch that you slip stitch into will be your first stitch.
Hi,
will this fit my 15 month old?
This is a newborn size but if you go up a couple hook sizes, it should work.
I am trying to make the booties how do you do the tog in the pattern
Where are the patterns for the booties for older babies? I’m making booties for a baby who’s 3 months old.
