A quick easy crochet textured headband that works up fast! This pattern uses front post double crochet and single crochet stitches to create the beautiful texture.

Materials:
- I hook, 5.5 mm
- Medium worsted weight yarn
- Large button, about 1 1/4″
- Blunt needle
Abbreviations:
ch- chain
st(s)- stitch(es)
sl st- slip stitch
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
dc- double crochet
fpdc- front post double crochet
sc2tog- single crochet two together
Pattern:
Ch 6.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from the hk and each st across, turn (5).
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc next 3, 2 sc in last, turn (7).
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (7).
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc next 5, 2 sc in last, turn (9).
Row 5: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (9).
Row 6: Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc next 7, 2 sc in last, turn (11).
Row 7: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (11).
Row 8: Ch 1, 2 sc in first, sc next 9, 2 sc in last, turn (13).
Row 9: Ch 1, dc in each st across, turn (13).
Row 10: Ch 1, sc in first, fpdc (around previous rows dc) in next, repeat ending with sc, turn (13).
Row 11: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (13).
Row 12: Ch 1, sc in first, fpdc in previous fpdc from row 10, repeat ending with sc, turn (13).
Row 13: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (13).
Repeat rows 12 and 13 until piece measures 17” from end.
Next row: Ch 1, dc in st across, turn (13).
Next row: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (11).
Next row: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc next 7, sc 2 tog, turn (9).
Next row: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (9).
Next row: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc next 5, sc2tog, turn (7).
Next row: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (7).
Next row: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next 3, sc2tog, turn (5).
Next row: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (5).
Next row: Ch 5, skip 4 sts and sl st in 5th st at end to form button hole.
Continue to sc in each st on the left and right vertical sides, sc in every other st on the long horizontal sides. 2 sc in each corner.
Sc 5 times in buttonhole. Sl st in last st and fasten off. Weave in end.
Sew on your button. You’re done! Great job!

I am confused at two points:
Row 10 – Do you mean by “fpdc” to double crochet in the front LOOP? Otherwise, I don’t know what “post” ther would be, as the previous row is all single crochet, and
Row 12 – What do you mean by “fpdc in previous fpdc from row 10”?

In row 10 you fpdc in the dc from row 9. For row 12 you are fpdc around the post you made in row 10. This keeps the fpdc’s together to form the textured part of the headband. Hope this helps!
