Crochet toy hammock free pattern

Create this cute crochet toy hammock with this free crochet pattern! This hammock features basic crochet stitches and is a great way to organize your child’s toys.

Need more storage for your child’s stuffed animals? Make this super easy crochet toy storage net hammock.

This simple design works up very fast (you can make this is one afternoon) and simply hangs onto some plastic wall hooks in the corner of the room.

A great storage idea for plush toys and kid’s accessories.

This is an easy project, awesome toy organizer and great for leftover yarn.

Don’t worry, it will not fall down or fall off the hooks. I have had my son’s hammock up in the corner of a wall for over a month and it is nice and strong!

Materials:

  • Lily Sugar n’ Cream 100% cotton yarn.
  • J hook, 6.00 mm
  • Blunt needle
  • plastic wall hooks

Abbreviations:

st(s)- stitch(es)

ch- chain

dc- double crochet

sp- space

sl st- slip stitch

Pattern:

Row 1: Ch 4, sl st in first ch to make a circle, turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in circle, ch 1, dc in same circle, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in first sp, ch 1, dc in same sp, ch 1, repeat in next sp, turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in first sp, ch 1, dc in same sp, ch 1, dc in second sp, ch 1, repeat to end, turn.

**Continue with this sequence so the first and last space of each row has 2 dc and each space between them has 1 dc.

The 2 dc at each end will help grow the triangle. Continue with the pattern until you reach the desired length you like. Sl st in last stitch and fasten off. Weave in end.

Put the hooks on your wall (3 total) in any corner and hang the ends over the hooks. You’re done!

Pin it for later!

    Hello,

Are you repeating rows 2-4 or repeating row 4?

Repeating row 4. You will increase on each end and dc in each st in-between.

I had trouble with this pattern and I only got it to work when I did ch3, 1dc, ch1 in the first space on each row (i.e I counted the chain as a dc). Now it’s working up great. Thank you for the free pattern.

Hi there! I’m trying to make this for a friend and I want to check in doing it right. As I’m going, the shape becomes like a semicircle and it looks like it will go to more of circle shape. Is that correct?

It should grow into a triangle shape. You’re increasing on either end and dc in the middle to grow the sides which will give you a triangular shape.

I like this! I’m going to make one for my kids!
I also have an Etsy shop, can I have your permission to sell ones that I make using your pattern?

Hi! I would say about 500 yards…I used a Lily Sugar N Cream cone (700 yards) and still had some left when I was finished. Of course it can be a little more or less depending how big you want it.
