Crochet Toy Storage Net Hammock – Free Pattern

If stuffed animals are taking over your child’s room, this crochet toy storage net hammock is a simple and practical solution.

This toy storage hammock works up quickly, uses basic crochet stitches, and can be easily adjusted to fit your space.

My finished hammock measures approx. 45″ from end to end on the longest side. 31″ inches on the other 2 sides and 22″ from the middle of the longest side to the front point.

You can easily change the size to whatever measurement you need.

Materials

• Lily Sugar ‘n Cream 100% cotton yarn (I used a large cone: 400g / 14 oz, 616 m / 674 yd). I did not use the entire cone but used a good amount.

• J hook (6.00 mm)

• Blunt needle

• Plastic wall hooks (3)

Abbreviations

• ch – chain

• st(s) – stitch(es)

• dc – double crochet

• sp – space

• sl st – slip stitch

Pattern

Row 1: Ch 4, sl st in first ch to form a circle. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in circle, ch 1, dc in same circle. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, dc in same sp, ch 1, repeat in next sp. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, dc in same sp, ch 1, dc in second sp, ch 1, dc in next sp, ch 1, dc in last sp, ch 1, dc in same sp. Turn.

Repeat Pattern (Triangle Expansion)

For each row after Row 4:

• First space: dc, ch 1, dc

• Middle spaces: dc, ch 1 in each space

• Last space: dc, ch 1, dc

• Turn at the end of each row

Tips for growth:

• The increases at the first and last space of each row make the triangle grow evenly.

• Continue repeating these steps until your triangle reaches the desired length.

Finished measurements (mine):

• Longest side: ~45″

• Other two sides: ~31″ each

• Distance from middle of longest side to front point: ~22″

Finishing

• Sl st in last stitch and fasten off.

• Weave in ends.

• Attach the hammock to your wall using 3 hooks in any corner. Hang the ends over the hooks.
