    Hi!

I’m having a bit of trouble with this pattern. What do you mean by crocheting in the round? It seems to me like you should chain 1 at the end of the round then go back crocheting to the other end. How do you get to round 2 if you don’t chain? Also, do you make two of these and use the slip stitch around to crochet them together?

In the round means to continuously work around like when you make a hat. You work in the round then sl st through both sides at the end instead of making 2 separate pieces then sl stitching them together. It is worked up in once piece. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I love this! So each row is kind of like 2 rows, one in front and one in back, with alternating stitches?
I can’t wait to try this pattern!
        Thank you for sharing!

Yes, that is what I meant. It should make sense now, thank you.

Sorry, I thought you had missed the sc, but I missed seeing it. I love this pattern, thank you. I have been making up my own pattern for the jar lid openers, but will try yours now. Thanks again.

No worries! Thank you 🙂 The jar lid openers are fun, I use mine all the time and made them for Christmas gifts last year 🙂

Now that it is daylight, I can see that you did have sc there. So sorry. This is a great pattern, thank you.

By saying “work in the round” do you mean work both sides of the foundation chain? The reply to Joy really didn’t answer the question for me…maybe I’m missing something that’s obvious to others.

Yes, work both sides of the foundation chain to work the body of the potholder.

I used cotton yarn, Lily Sugar N’ Cream works well.
