Materials:

  • H hook, 5.00 mm
  • Medium worsted weight yarn, I used Yarnspirations Bernat Pop in “Hot Chocolate”, 5 oz, 280 yards
  • 2 large buttons, approx. 1.5″
  • Blunt needle

Abbreviations:

ch- chain

hk- hook

sk- skip

sp- space

sc- single crochet

dc- double crochet

Pattern:

Ch 86

Row 1: Sc in second ch from the hk, *ch 3, sk next 2 ch, 1 sc in next,* repeat from * to end.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, *3 sc in ch 3 sp, sc in next,* repeat from * to end.

Row 3: Ch 2, sk first st, *dc in next 3 sts, ch 1, sk next st, * repeat from *, ending with a dc in last st.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 3, 1 sc in space (where you sk st in last row),* repeat from * to end, ending with sc at the top of the ch 2.

Repeat rows 2-4, 4 more times.

Position the scarf so one side goes over the other side coming to a point in the front. I always try it on in a mirror first to make sure the fit is just what I like before starting the fringe.

Fringe:

Cut strands of yarn 10″ in length. Fold in half. With 2 strands together pull through edge of scarf, wrap the hook around the yarn and pull the yarn through.

Place the fringe through both sides at the point in the front and the other two points as pictured.

Continue to place fringe around the front V part in each ch 3 space. Trim fringe to desired length.

Sew on buttons.

Are the buttons sewed through both layers for decoration or used to button and un button??
