This twisted bean stitch crochet headband has the best texture!
I just love it, and hope you do too! The headband features the bean stitch and has such a cute twist detail in the front. Very easy to make and works up quickly! You will want to make one in every color!
The pattern uses medium worsted weight yarn and size H crochet hook. This pattern features a back button enclosure.

Materials:
– Any medium worsted yarn (4). about 1/2-3/4 of skein. I recommend a soft acrylic yarn such as Red Heart Soft:
– Hook size H, 5.00 mm
– Blunt needle
– Large button approx. 1.25”
Abbreviations:
ch = chain (s)
st(s) = stitches
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
sc2tog = single crochet 2 together
Special Stitches:
Puff: Yarn over, insert hk in st and pull up a loop, yarn over and insert hook again pulling up another loop, yarn over and insert hk one more time and pull up a loop. Now yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
Ch 7.
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from the hk and each st across, turn (6).
Row 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first, hdc next 3, 2 hdc in last, turn (8).
Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (8).
Row 4: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first, hdc next 5, 2 hdc in last, turn (10).Row 5: Ch 1, hdc in each st across, turn (10).
Row 6: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first, hdc next 7, 2 hdc in last, turn (12).
Row 7: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (12).
Row 8: Ch 2, 2 hdc in first, hdc next 9, 2 hdc in last, turn (14).
Row 9: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (14).
Row 10: Ch 2, skip first st, *puff in next st, ch 1, skip next st*, repeat from * across, ending with a puff st in last st, turn (14).
Row 11: Ch 2, *puff st in-between the next two puffs space from the previous row, ch 1,* repeat from * across, ending with a puff st in last space, turn (14).
Row 12: Continue with row 11 until piece measures 8″ from the end.
Row 13: Ch 2, *puff st in-between the next two puffs space, ch 1,* repeat 2 more times, ending with a puff in last space, turn.
Ch 2, puff in-between the first space and next 2 spaces until piece measures 3″ and fasten off.
Pick up a st back at row 13 and puff in-between the first space and next 2 spaces until the other side measures 3″ and fasten off.
Cross the top part over the bottom part and pick up a st at the bottom.
Ch 2 and repeat row 11. This will bring the headband back together to one piece.
Work row 11 until piece measures 17″ from the end.
Next row: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each space across (12)
Next row: Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc next 9, hdc2tog, turn (12).
Next row: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (12).
Next row: Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc next 7, hdc2tog, turn (10).
Next row: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (10).
Next row: Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc next 5, hdc2tog (8).
Next row: Ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn (8).
Next row: Ch 2, hdc2tog, hdc in next 3, hdc2tog, turn (5).
Next row: Ch 1, hdc in each st across, turn (6).
Now ch 6 sts, skip 6 sts at the end and sl st in 6th st at end to form button hole. Ch 1, turn, 6 sc in button hole. Sl st in next and fasten off.
Sew on your button.
