I am trying to work this pattern but am confused about the counts. The parenthesis are the count for each row but with the first double crochet it ends up being 11 instead of 10 and 21 instead of 20. My kiddo would love this har!!
Hi, the ch 2 does not count as a stitch. I think that’s where you may be going wrong You should have 10 dc’s then 2 dc in each st around will give you 20 total stitches on the next row.

I bought the pattern paw patrol after seeing the free version on this website, hoping there would be maybe more info on the Ear Flaps for different sizes.
I am not sure how to deal with a child size (I have 65 st)
– do the Ear Flaps stays with 10 st each or do they need to be larger?
– What should be the distance between each Ear Flaps, is it in the middle of the head on both side? (looks a little bit more on the front)
It’s a surprise for a gift and placing the Ear Flaps on a larger size than the basic toddler one is stressing me out a little bit.
