Create this simple crochet striped blanket!
This blanket uses a size I crochet hook, 10 balls of medium worsted weight yarn (main color) and 1 ball of medium worsted weight yarn in white. This blanket works up pretty quickly (for a blanket).
I worked off and on a couple hours a day and it took me about 2 weeks to complete.
The final blanket measures 59″ X 50″.

Materials:
- 10 balls medium worsted weight yarn (I used Lion Brand Jiffy in Lilac (3 oz., 85 grams, 135 yards)
- 1 ball medium worsted weight yarn in white
- Size I hook, 5.5 mm
- Blunt needle
Tips: If you need help changing colors check out my post 6 awesome ways to change colors in crochet.
When changing colors, leave a long tail to weave in later. Do not crochet over the tail as the ends will poke out of the blanket.
Abbreviations:
hk- hook
st(s)- stitch(es)
sk- skip
Pattern:
Ch 144 with main color
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from the hk, dc next 9 sts, *ch 1, sk next st, dc next 10 sts*, repeat from * to end.
Row 2: Ch 2, *dc in next 10 sts, ch 1, skip next st,* repeat from * to end.
Row 3: repeat row 2.
Row 4. Switch to white. Ch 1, *sc next 10 sts, ch 1, skip next st*, repeat from * to end.
Row 5: Switch back to main color. Repeat row 2.
Row 6: Repeat row 2.
Row 7: Repeat row 2.
Row 8: Repeat row 4.
Continue working rows 5-8, 22 more times or until piece measures 59″ long, ending with 3 rows of the main color. Fasten off on the last row and weave in all ends.
