Novelty fish mittens! These are so cute and fun to make!

The free pattern is listed below.

Yarn- multi colored yarn, I used Red Heart Soft (can’t remember the name), any worsted weight yarn will work. About 5 oz. (1 skein). You will need every bit to use 1 skein exactly, you will need a little over a skein if you leave too long of tails to your work.

Insert hook in first and last st of the 10 sc sts and pull up a lp.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in 10 sts around, join (10).

Row 9: Sc2tog 5 times, fasten off and weave in end. Turn thumb inside out and fasten off on inside with blunt needle.

Back Fin:

Ch 12

Row 1: Sc in second ch from the hk, hdc, dc 7, hdc, sc (11). Fasten off. Attach to the “back” of the fish (between rows 11 and 20). Weave in ends.

Side Fin:

Row 1: Hdc in second ch from the hook and each ch after (6), turn.

Row 2-4: Ch 1, hdc in each st, turn (6). Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew on with. Put end of yarn through darning needle and weave in and out along the top of the fin and pull tight so the fin scrunches at the top.

Secure with a knot into the first st and sew on the body of the fish (rows 13-16). Secure by sewing fin on the bottom.
