Crochet Granny Square Pouch Wallet

Crochet Granny Square Pouch Wallet

I was making granny squares and thinking what fun way could I turn these into something cute? I started playing around with them and as a result created this pretty pouch!

Great to use as a wallet, store coupons, whatever you want! My son puts his finger puppets in it!

First I followed this simple video below by Bella Coco on YouTube and made 4 granny squares.

I changed the the color each round for a total of 3 rounds, ending with the black. I then took the white yarn, folded the squares in half and laid them out to form the pouch.

I then drew up a loop and single crochet around the outter edges through both loops.

Just follow the natural flow of the square seams and if you get confused just lay it back down folded and you will be right back on track! Fasten off and weave in end when your done.

Cut a piece of long white yarn, fold in half then pull up a loop on the tip of the top square (this is the button hole).

Chain 5 (or however many chains you need for your button, then slip st back into the first stitch.

Fasten off and weave in ends. Sew on the button.

Using medium worsted weight yarn and a size I hook my finished piece measured 6 X 6 inches.

You can easily make this larger or smaller by using thinner or bulkier yarn and a smaller or larger hook.

You can make this pouch with any granny square pattern, the possibilities are endless!
