20 min. crochet Minnie Mouse hair clip
We are getting ready for a trip to Disney World soon and I wanted to make something that would be cute to wear besides giant ears, lol! Since it’s still in the 80’s I made this cute Minnie Mouse hair clip to wear in my hair or attach to a headband or whatever you want. So cute for adults and kids (I’m definitely going to wear one and make one for my niece!) So easy to make, you can create this piece in just 20 minutes! Measures approx. 2″ X 2″.
- size G hook for ears, size F hook for bow
- small amount light weight black yarn (I used a light weight yarn with sparkles in it)
- small amount light weight pink yarn
- 4.5 cm (1 3/4″) alligator hair clip like this:
- hot glue gun
- blunt needle
sc- single crochet
dc- double crochet
sl st- slip stitch
For Head: (use 2 strands together or cut one long piece of yarn and fold in half:
Magic circle, ch 2. 12 dc in circle, sl st to join and fasten off.
For Ears: (use 2 strands together or cut one long piece of yarn and fold in half (make 2):
Magic circle, ch 2. 5 dc in circle, sl st to join and fasten off.
Sew ears on head and weave in all ends on the back.
For Bow: with pink yarn ch 5.
Row 1: sc in second ch from the hook to end, turn (4).
Row 2-5: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (4).
Fasten off. Cut long piece of yarn and weave in and out in the center of the bow.
Tie a knot in the center of the bow and wrap yarn around the center about 5 times. Fasten off. Weave ends in on sides of bow. Sew bow to middle of head and sew bow on each corner. Fasten off on back and weave in end.
Clip your hair clip on a piece of scrap paper/cardboard (so you don’t accidentally glue the clip together) and place a strip of hot glue on the clip. Press your work down firmly and let dry.
You’re done! Great job!
