Simple Crochet Baby Blanket

 

A simple design yet creates a beautiful sophisticated blanket! Perfect for a beginner! The finished blanket measures 35″ X 35″.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:

– Medium worsted weight yarn

– Hook size G

– Blunt needle

Abbreviations:

ch = chain (s)

st(s) = stitches

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet

Ch 101

Row 1: Dc in second ch from the hk, dc each st across, turn (100).

Row 2: Ch 2, *sk first st, dc in second, go back and dc in the first st*, repeat from * to end, turn (100).

Row 3: Ch 2, dc in each st across, turn (100).

Row 4: repeat rows 2 and 3 until piece measures 35”. Change colors every 2 rows if you desire. Sl st at end and fasten off, weave in ends.

Tip: You can make this blanket larger or smaller by chaining an odd number of sts (in any amount) and repeating the pattern.

  1. When you go back and do the double crochet in the stitch you skipped, where do you go from there? Do you skip the next stitch? Thanks; really want to try this!
